MINUTES
I. CALL TO ORDER: The Special Meeting of the Weaverville Fire Protection District was called to order by Chairman Bill Britton at 1400 hours. Members Present: Bill Britton, Larry Helsley, George Owen, Mike Williams and Dee Potter. Members Absent: None. Others Present: Fire Chief Alvord and Clerk Marjie Watkins.
II. ACTION ITEMS:
A. Discuss/Approve Lord Abbett 457 Retirement Plan HEART, WRERA, and PPA Amendments Authorization, fiscal impact of $250 – Chairman Britton reported that the IRS has changed regulations mandating that 457 plans be amended to reflect changes made in 3 legislations, Heroes Earnings Assistance and Relief Act of 2008 (HEART Act), Worker, Retiree and Employer Recovery Act of 2008 (WRERE), and Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA). These changes must be made if we choose to continue to use the Lord Abbett 457 Retirement Plan. MSC: Williams/Helsley to approve the Amendments as presented.
